What kakenagashi does โ and does not โ mean
The Japan Spa Association defines kakenagashi as continuously adding new hot-spring water and discharging overflow without returning it to the bath. Heating can still be used when disclosed, so โkakenagashiโ is not automatically the same as โ100% source water, no heating.โ It also says nothing about whether the bath is indoors, outdoors, communal or in your room.
