TAYUTA is a villa resort that opened on 1 September 2024 on Hiai Island in Kamiamakusa, Kumamoto, an island lying entirely within Unzen-Amakusa National Park. Its 12 rooms come in four suite types, each for two guests with sea, marina or island views; the Amakusa, Sunset and Takamoku suites have an open-air bath and the Harbor suite an indoor bath, all using natural hot spring water, and the resort's own Amakusa Kinsen spring rises from 820 metres underground. The dining room in the main building has an open kitchen cooking Amakusa produce such as spiny lobster, local sea urchin and abalone, served on tableware by Amakusa potters or made with Amakusa pottery stone, and the lounge becomes a bar in the evening. Children must be 13 or older.
