Sekitei is a 12-room garden ryokan at Miyahama Onsen in Hatsukaichi, Hiroshima, across the water from Miyajima. Seven sukiya-style detached annexes face the garden, three main-building rooms look out over the Miyajima strait, and two pavilion rooms complete the layout; every room has its own bath (open-air, semi-open-air, karasu-buro or similar type). The hot-spring baths include a hinoki-lined indoor bath and an open-air bath, and there is a separate building for spa treatments for women. Dinner, served in the room, draws on small fish and shellfish from the Seto waters off Miyajima along with mountain produce, with sommelier-recommended drinks and pairing courses available.
