Kamenoi Besso is a ryokan beside Lake Kinrin in Yufuin, Oita, set in a large garden. Guests stay either in 11 detached cottages (50-140 sqm) with living rooms, bedrooms and hot-spring baths, several with open-air baths, or in 6 Western-style twin rooms in the main building, each with an indoor hot-spring bath. The hot-spring water comes from a source within the garden and flows straight into the baths without recirculation. Cottage guests have kaiseki dinner and breakfast brought to the room, while main-building guests eat at the in-house restaurant; the grounds also hold the restaurant Yunotake-an, a cafe and a bar. Main-building rooms are recommended for long stays and solo use but do not accept children of elementary-school age or younger.
